Hello Robert, I was interested in your source for the dates for Lewis Beaman's birth and death. I can't seem to find out anything on him before he married Susanna Craton Wheeler. I have checked with the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and have found the baptismal records of his children Mary Ann, Louis, and James. Louis's name was John Louis on the record, but the dates seem right for Louis to be Pauliette's father. Check my posting on the genforums religion site under Catholic, it has web sites for wills, etc. on the replies from Kathryn Hagel. The Lincoln co. Ga 1820 census has Lewis R.Beaman households with 7 free white males, 2 free white females, I think some of these were Susan's children by her first husband. It also has 4 free blacks and 30 slaves. One member of household was forign born. Thank you for any input on the Beamans. Carolyn
