Ben Beaird & Charlotte "Sissy" Jackson

I asked my grandmother about a couple and their son who we used to visit in Maplesville or Orrville, AL (I believe) when I was a child. She says they were Aunt Sissy (Charlotte Jackson) and Uncle Ben Beaird. She says Ben was Sallie Boone Beaird's (William, Benjamin, Edmund) brother.

I believe my grandmother is a little confused; however I am unsure if it's the name or the relation she is confused about. We visited these relatives in the years before 1975. The couple we visited were around 50 or 60 at the time, with a son in a wheelchair, 30 or 40(Vietnam Vet, I seem to recall). William Edmund Beaird, Sallie's father, was born 1823. It doesn't seem possible that Ben could be William's son. Maybe grandson?

I'm wondering if someone still living in the area may know of these people. I remember the house they lived in had a zig-zag wheelchair ramp. They also had a small store that they owned right next door, pretty much in their yard. And there was a cemetery on the property, in a gated area.

Does anyone know of these people, or this property?

Thanks,

Caroline
