Beadles Family Genealogy Forum

Thank you for responding. I'm happy to know the correct spelling. The only information I have on this line is Mary Ann Grisamore, b. 5 Nov 1845 in Clark County IN; d. 10 Apr 1927; m. William E. Beadle. I did find an 1870 census for Jefferson County IL, listing William E. Beadle, b. IN ca 1839, with wife Mary A., children Harry age 6, b. IL; Barbara age 3, b. IL; and Edgar age 2, b. IL; along with Alfred J. Hardy, farm laborer, age 20, b. IN. That's it. Mary Ann Grisamore's sister may have also married a Beadle, but no further information on that. Her sister was Delphinia or Delphina, b. 1844, d. Toledo, Cumberland County IL.
Mary Ann's parents were John Wesley Grisamore and Rebecca Henley - they both lived in Clark County IN until they were elderly, then moved to Mt. Vernon Illinois, where they both died.
I have the Grisamores traced pretty well, as there has been a book written about them. But I don't have much on the Beadle family (not my direct line - I'm descended from Mary Ann's sister Sara Elizabeth Grisamore who m. Thomas L. Ratts). I'm interested in tracing allied lines as well. Do you have the children of Mary Ann and William E. Beadle? Also William's family - parents and siblings. I've found others of this name in records, and wondered how they are connected. I'd like to know where the Beadle family originated from; the Grisamores came from Berks County PA; and Rebecca Henley was born in NC - I haven't found her family yet, except two siblings who lived in Clark County IN. Do you know if the Beadle family was also connected to those of the Beedle spelling?
I was reading a Dickens novel (Oliver Twist), and they mentioned the Beadle, or one who keeps order in the Church.
Would enjoy hearing from you. Thanks again.
