Clarissa Beadles Shelton's descendants joined the DAR based on her father John's Rev. War service. See DAR Lineage books, v. 156, pp.43-44. Her marriage bond is signed by John and lists John as her father.

William Thomas Beadles' son William T. Beadles (1846-1924) is known for work with Chaddock Boys School, Quincy, IL and was a Methodist minister. He wrote a bit about his early life. I believe that document is in the manuscript section of the Illinois State Historical Library, Springfield, IL. As far as I know, it discusses only his immediate family (parents, brothers and sisters). His son, another William T. Beadles, was a professor at Ill. Wesleyan Univ.

I've also seen the ref. to 5 brothers, with 2 going to KY and one to MO. Wish I knew more about them - maybe one of them is my Rice Beadles, whose descendants settled in Illinois within 50 miles of Wm. Thomas' family in Cass County.
