Laura BEACH [1787-1862]m/1 Dr.Edward UPHAM m/2 Samuel PERCY
My 3rdgreat grandparents were Dr. Edward 7 UPHAM and his wife, Laura BEACH daug. of David BEACH [Rev. War Soldier] and his wife Anna SMITH.Dr. Upham died in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1819 leaving his wife/widow Laura [Beach] back in New York State with 4 little children under the age of 8 years. I had information that Laura had died 20 April 1862 but didn't know where. By 1860 her 4 Upham children were married and living in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.
For 27 years, I have been searching for Laura - where was she buried??? Did she remarry after 1819???I 'assumed' Laura had remarried because Icouldn't find a "Laura Upham' on the 1850 - 1860 census and she wasn't living with her Upham children.
Last night 'surfing' onthe internet, WORLDCONNECT entries, I found where she had married Samuel PERCY by1824 and they lived 1850 Chateaugay,Franklin Co., NY; in 1860Laura was living with [her son] Andrew Percy at Chateaugay. On rootsweb.com - their USGENWEB I found the burial place of Laura."Brayton Hollow Cemetery aka Chasm Road Cemetery, Chateaugay, Franklin Co., NY 'PERCY, Laura, w/o Samuel d. 20 Apr. 1862 ae 75 y 8 m.'" Bingo! the death dates match. Finally!!!!
