I am seeking information on the ancestors of DICEA BAZEMORE who married ZADOCK THOMAS on 7/12 Jan 1793 in Bertie Co., NC. Dicea was the daughter of JESSE and FRANCES BAZEMORE. Bondsman and witness were: JAMES WILFORD and STEVENS GRAY. Wilford may have been a brother-in-law.
Jesse apparently was the son of JOHN BAZEMORE of Bertie Co., NC. I would be very interested in learning more about John's origins.
Zadock and Dicea moved to Christian Co. [later Trigg Co.], KY, possibly by 1800. In 1809 Zadock and Dicea sold 150 acres of land lying on the Cashie Swamp in Bertie Co., to TURNER BAZEMORE, Dicea's brother [Deed Book V, pp. 286, 291]. Land was patented to Zadock in Christian Co., KY on 18 Dec 1811, in a section which later became Trigg Co.
On 23 Oct 1815, presumably after the death of Dicea, Zadock married SALLY RUCKER RUTTER in Caldwell Co., KY, possibly her third marriage.
