For sources, write William E. "Bill" Bazemore, PO Box 205, Butler, GA 31006. Bill is gathering information on all Bazemores and has a great deal of documentation. He does not use a computer, but I have entered all of his information and between us we have almost 10,000 names plus some that we cannot connect. Jane Bazemore was married to Nathan Parrish on September 18, 1827 in Bibb County, GA. We have no other marriages for Ann Elizabeth. David Bazemore's other children were: Martha, b. abt 1795, married Matthew Nugent on May 21, 1815 in Putnam County, GA. Thomas Jefferson, b. 1799 in Jones County, GA, d. March 6, 1871 in Coosa County, Al. He married Ricardix Strother on September 3, 1820 in Jones County, GA. He also married Frances Jane Sharbutt in 1863. Blount H. Bazemore, b. 1801 in Georgia, d. January 27, 1866 in Coosa County, AL. Blount married Sarah E. Steely on December 28, 1829 in Crawford County, GA. Nancy, b. 1802, d. March 15, 1836 in Crawford County, GA. She married Thomas Jefferson Duffee on November 4, 1819 in Jones County, GA. Moore, b. 1807 in Jones County, GA, d. abt 1868. Moore married Mary McCollum. Rederick B., b. December 26, 1812, d. 1863 in Harris County, GA. He married Martha Jane McLean on May 1, 1838 in Chambers County, AL. George Washington, b. 1813 in Jones County, GA, d. 1855 in Crawford County, GA. He married Elizabeth Wright on April 20, 1833 in Crawford County, GA I believe that references to Bazemores in Putnam County refer to a part of that county that became Jones County. As for the first Bazemores from England, some believe that Thomas Bazemore was born in England in 1665 and had a son, John, born in Barbados in 1689. This John then is supposed to have had a son, John, born in Norfork County, VA, in 1715. This John had 8 children named in his will written in 1789 in Berte County, NC. Bill believes that Thomas was the son of John Bazemore and was born in England in 1681. He believes that the John Bazor born in Barbados was not a Bazemore. The John whose will is dated 1789 is the son of Thomas and not hte son of another John. This John would have been born around 1705 with his first children born about 1725. I tend to agree with Bill's scenario. Their is evidence that John, Jr. and Jesse, sons of John, were of legal age in 1842 when they served as witnesses. This would make it unlikely that their father was born as late as 1715. Also, I find no Thomas born in County Surrey before 1681 in the index to the Surrey County records. I have seen family files for people with the name Bazor and do not think it is one of the spellings for Bazemore that are found in records. In spite of the many variations in spelling found in records, Bazemore is consistently found as the spelling among descendants. The Ann Bazemore who was married in Barbados would be the sister of Thomas and not his daughter. I'm sure Bill will be interested in any information you can provide about Bazemore's that we haven't identified yet.
