They had a daughter, Marilyn, who married Horace Thompson Dowman.

Joseph's father: James J. Bazemore, b. June 16, 1853, d. July 14, 1893, buried Bazemore Cemetery, Hazlehurst, GA. James married Mary E. McIntyre, b. June 6, 1848, d. March 17, 1924, buried Bazemore Cemetery, Hazlehurst, GA.
James' father: John Seaborn Salem Bazemore, b. January 5, 1824, d. September 9, 1862 in Farmville Hospital. John married Elizabeth Ann Yeomans December 31, 1850 in Emanuel County, GA. Elizabeth b. 1839, d. November 22, 1892, buried Collins Chapel, Toombs County, GA.
John's father: John Nathaniel Turner Bazemore, b. 1804, d. October 31, 1862, buried Sapp Cemetery, Toombs County, GA. John Nathaniel married Polly Lord.
John Nathaniel's father: Jesse Reddin Bazemore, Jr., b. bef 1742, d. August 1807, married Penelope Bazemore January 26, 1799 in Bertie County, NC. Jesse, Jr. and Penelope were first cousins.
