Hello Chas; I went through the family Bible several years back and a Abraham Hembree and a Mary Margaret Allison were listed as the parents of Sarah Jane WITH
no Duncan being mentioned; I do know with certainty ; because
I somehow managed to acquire the Birthrecords of Hiram
Baize that he was born in Maysville Oklahoma not Maysville
Missouri, and that the family traveled between Indian country and Stone County Missouri off and on. The names of
the children listed match but I was not aware that Sarah
Jane had a previous marriage, There is some evidence that
she may have been partly Indian and that she died in 1879
at the age of 37 that would have made her only having been
born in 1842 not 1837 and having two families at that young
age would certainly have been an accomplishment since she
had several children by Abednego. I do know that after
the death of Abraham Hembree; he died very young that Mary
Margaret Allison went on to have several more children by
another marriage. I also know with certainty because I
have the stone county marriage records of Abednego and
Sarah Jane Hembree that they married on December 13th 1863
in Stone County Missouri and is listed accordingly. If Sarah is a Duncan I would like to know about it but there
is a lot of false information that is dispenced to disprove
all Indian blood by many in our family even at the expense
of false genealogy. Sincerely David
