Re: Dock Peter Baze
Donna,I found the book at the Arlington Public Library and made copies of the obits.
The obit. for D. P. Baize is as follows:
"Bro. D.P. Baize was born in McNairy County, Tennessee, on January 28, 1820 and departed this life February 24, 1904, being 84 years and 28 days old.He obeyed the gospel at the early age of 17 and began preaching the gospel at 27.He spent 67 years of his life in the service of the Master, fifty-seven years of which he spent preaching.
Bro Baize had many noble traits of character. His highesst and foremost aim was to benefit others. He often offered some advice which he had learned by experience, sometimes by bitter experience, too. He was a kind father, an affectionate husband, a good neighbor, a law abiding citizen, and withal, a good zealous Christian and a splendid preacher.
Many have been brought to Christ under his preaching, and his influence in the way of keeping the churches where he labored stirred up and at work was keenly felt. One prominent feature of his life was that he was always a learner.
