David,
The family name is not Mexican. It is actually Spanish. The family landed on the Mexican coast, and migrated to South Texas in the 1800. There were several brothers that settled in a place called La Mota. I have contacted my father and asked him about the grandfather and greatgrandfathers names. I have an email address that you can correspond with. Jrman12870@aol.com
His name is E.B. Rivera. I have been corresponding with him. I am also very interested in the roots of our family name. I am currently living in Arizona, but I was born in Alice, Tx. My family is rooted in Benavides, Tx.
