Tracy,
I have some info about the Baynes family in South Carolina. They appear in the 1790 S.C. census and, if memory me, twice in the 1800 census when, I believe, they were beginning their migration to Kentucky. Some of the children married in Kentucky in the early part of the 1800s and 1810s.During that time, John Baynes married Eliza Bammer(?) who, I believe, were probably my Great, Great, Great, Grandparents, or something like that.I believe they had a son by the name of Ebeanezer (sp.) who was born across the river in Illinois.Eventually, they moved from Kentucky to Coahoma or Bolivar County, Missisippi, where they were subsequently joined by several others, including Isham and Thornton Baynes.I think that Isham and Thornton may have been from North Carolina, but I'm unclear as to their relationship with John Baynes.I am writing all of this from memory so don't hold me too closely to it.I do have more in the files at the house and and will be happy to share.
