I think I can help, but I can't find my notes so this is going to be from memory. The father of the John you mention is also John. He died in the 1830s and there is a Columbia Co Orphans Court document that names his children. I believe the widow's name was Elisabeth. John's administrator was Henry Wertman (father of Ester & Henry) and I've always wondered, if he was Elisabeth's brother. Sorry to be so vague on the references.
