Hi-
I have some good Baylor name info that my grandfather paid the Media Research Bureau of Washington DC back in the 50s or 60s. Anyway, my husband retyped the whole document and posted it at:

http://members.aol.com/nancepete1/baylor.htm

After reading the interesting information which many Baylors may not knew existed, please my family tree (Adobe acrobat reader required) by clicking on the link. As you can see, the best I go back is to a Richard Baylor marrying a Catherine Corgall and nobody knows anything about these two ... any help would be appreciated. The family is from the New York City. We live in Arnold, MD. The following are good books to get Baylor information during the 1600s to 1800s, as you know, or what I've been told, just about any Baylor in the United States is somehow tied to these early Virginia Baylors:
1. Visitations of Devonshire, 1895, Vivian
2. Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, 1898-1899, 1916, 1917
3. Old Churches, Ministers, and Families of Virginia, Vol. II, 1878
4. Encyclopedia of Virginia Biography, 1915, Tyler
5. The Seldons of Virginia, 1911, Kennedy
6. The Bayloronian, 1919
7. The history of Caroline County, Va., 1924, Wingfield
8. Old King William County, Va., 1897, Clarke
9. Abridged Compendium of American Genealogy, 1928, Virkus
10. The Cabells and their kin, 1895, Brown
11. Shenandoah Valley Pioneers and their descendants, 1909, Cartmell
12. Virginia Genealogies, 1931, Hayden
13. The Page family of Virginia, 1883, Page
14. Colonial families of the United States, 1912, Mackenzie
15. Virginia soldiers of 1776, 1929, Burgess
16. Officers of the Continental Army, 1914, Heitman
17. Virginia Revolutionary Soldiers, 1912
18. Encyclopdeia Americana, 1932
19. Armorial General, 1861, Rietatap

As you can see, all these books pertain to the Virginia area where the first Baylors came to the U.S. I hope this information and our web page is helpful and Please let us know if you of a link to our family. Thanks again.
