Dear David

Our trouble is that the family line that connects us to Wormington left the village some time before the dates that you have. "Our" George (we are not 100% sure who his father was, but his grandparents were William Baylis (b1724 in Wormington) and Sarah Cooke (born about 1733, local to Wormington))would have left the area by at least 1820, when his first son was born in London. Judging by the fact that George's wife was born in Norfolk, and a still to be verified marriage in 1810 in London, I guess he left quite early on.

Here's one line of investigation for you, tho'. Willliam and Sarah had a son called John, christened 13 july 1766 in Wormington. He married Mary Dunn - their ninth child, born in Wormington in Dec 1806, was christened Job.

Happy to give you more info re John and Mary if it is relevant.
