I am descended from Thomas & Mary Baylis of East Dean, Gloucestershire. He was an iron miner. Their oldest daughter Harriet (1834-1898) married William Heaven (1838-1894) and emigrated to USA in 1872. Other children include Thomas (1836-?), William (1838-?), Hiram (1840-1872), Elizabeth (1841-?), Henry (1843-?), Edwin (1851-?, lived in Methley, Yorkshire), and George (1856-?).
