Information that was given to me by a family member states that our Bays were from Scott Co., VA. Informatio is as follows:
William Bays b. ? d. 6-10-1831 m. Rachel Bauker (sp?)
son John William Bays b.1789 d. 9-10-1861 in Carter Co. KY m. 1810 in VA Betsey Jane Kilgore
had son Samuel L. Bays b. 9-15-1833 Scott Co., VA d. 2-2-1919 in Carter Co., KY m. Lusinda J. Counts 1-31-1856
Now at this time the only one I am sure of is Samuel L. Bays and I know that he had two brothers, James and Charles. I have a photo of the three of them. I have pulled quite a few land grants and patents off the computer from VA for Peter, John, Joel, Charles and William with dates 1756-1852. I also have a Kilgore Book that has two of Rev. Robin Kilgore's daughters marrying two Bays men. Were they brothers? Are all of these Bays men related? Can someone help me get these people in the right generations? Judee
Also has anyone read the book "History of the Texas Baptist" by J. M. Carroll for information on Isiah Bays of England who had sons:Shadrak, Meshach, Abednego, John, Peter, Isaac and Joseph. Are any of these Bays related to the VA Bays?
