Thank you for responding to my query. I am curious as to where you got the information that Amos Bays was James Jacksons father, I have seen one other family tree that listed Amos as his father, however my father who was raised in the same household with David Sherman Bayes (his Grandfather and James Jackson's son) says that David Sherman told stories of how his Grandfather William Bays brought his family to Kentucky from the Scott Co. Virginia area when his father (James Jackson Bayes) was a young man. He even told how William was killed when a retarded boy rolled a rock down the hill hitting William in the head and knocking him off his horse, the family still has this rock. It's possible that William was his middle name and that was what he was called. The Bayes's are notorious for going by their middle names, James Jackson went by Jack, my grandfather, James Peter went by Pete, and I myself James Kenneth go by Ken, so he may have been Amos William or William Amos, but I would like to know where you came by that Amos was James Jacksons father. I know we are talking about the same James Jackson Bays because Racheal Picklesimer was my Great-Great Grandmother. Thanks Again Ken Bayes
