My great great grandfather,Absalom Jordan, was the son of Pleasant Jordan and Ann Burchett. I cannot at this time prove who Pleasant Jordan's father was, but have been told it was William Jordan. Pleasant and Ann lived in Carter Co.,Ky. He died around 1848 while Ann died around 1851 or 52. I do not have the dates in front of me right now.
Ann was the daughter of Benjamin Burchett and Susannah Herron (Hearn,Hern, Herne?. Her father's name was John Herron.
Some have called my Pleasant Jordan by the name of "Absalom Pleasant Jordan". I personally have not seen this in any records, but concede the possibility since he named one son Pleasant and another son Absalom. Then again, they may be speaking of my Pleasant's father being Absalom Pleasant Jordan instead of William. I am uncertain of all of this.
I only know for certain that my Absalom Jordan who married Julie Ann Coburn was the son of Pleasant Jordan and Ann Burchett.
If this connects me to the Samuel Jordan, I would be very pleased.

Sincerely,
Pat
