I am trying to find the parents of James Jackson Bays, who was born in Scott Co. Virginia in 1828 or 1829. My grandfather said his fathers name was William. There was a William Jr Bays who married Ruthey Osborne in 1830 Scott Co. This may be James Jacksons Parents, I'm not sure. I also was wondering if this William Jr. was the son of the William Bays listed in the heirs to Peter Bays Deed from the Russel Co. archives.
James Jackson was married in 1849 in Johnson Co. Ky. and in the 1850 Floyd Co.Ky census ther was a William and Ruth Bays ages 44 and 38 listed so I am inclined to believe these are his parents. Anyone who could help me with this would be greatly appreciated.
