Melissa,I too show Amos Bays as marrying Polly Vance (per marriage record). You stated he descended from John Isom Bays who d. 1794. This John who died 1794 was married to a Levasy aka Luvicy per court & other records. I also think he was John Jr. not the elder John whose wife was named Sarah per Pittsylvania court records.
