I am a descendant of a William Bayes in Johnson Co. Kentucky who would have lived about the same time as your 2nd generation William Bayes. The names John, James, Thomas, are prevalent in my family tree. I dont know his wife's name, but he had a son named James Jackson Bayes who fought for the Union in the Civil War. If this could be the same William Bayes I would appreciate any info you have on him and I could give you the descendants of James Jackson Bayes. I have been stuck on William Bayes in my family research for a long time he supposedly came to Kentucky from Wise Co. Virginia. Hope you can help me, thanks
