As a matter of coincidence (or maybe fate) I came upon this information which shows that the second Rufus had 3 daughters who married 3 Salyer men. These women would be the gg-neices of the Rufus you are seeking.
Can you give me any more information about the SALYER book? It looks as though the connections between the SALYER and BAYS folks covered at least a couple of generations.
