Yes, Wm & Ruthy were married in Scott Co., Va. Although he was referred to in a couple of records as Wm Bays Jr., he was not the son of William Bays Senior (d. 1827). I too have heard he was murdered but unfortunately the Floyd Co. court order book records are missing for the period when he died so there are no records there to shed more light on his demise.
