Yes, this is the same Amos Bayes, he had children named Nancy born 1828 and James Jackson (my GG Grandfather) b.1829 in scott Co. Virg., John Bayes, Wiley Bayes, Julia Bayes b. 1835 with his first wife Sarah Prater. He remaried in Johnson Co. Ky in 1853 to Sarah Jordan and had a son named Amos L. Bayes in 1853. I did not know where or when Wiley was born. I believe Amos's father may have been William Bayes of Scott Co. 1820 Census. William had a 17 yr old son and Amos would have been 17 in 1820. Amos was born in 1803 Pittsylvania Co. Virg. but was married in Scott Co. in 1827. I believe William was the son of Peter Bayes III but this is all an educated guess. If this is so we can trace our line back to Peter Bayes of Goochland co. Virginia at around 1700.
