Jerry,

CV Compton, author of The Stallard Connection states Rachel was a Broadwater but offers no proof. Contrary to what John K Barker has on his website, there were Broadwaters in Russell and Scott Cos., VA., but they were younger than Rachel. The Lyttle Bible as referenced in the Hamlin book states Susannah Barker married Peter Bays. It does not reference Rachel. An old Barker ledger states old John Barker had daughters Susanna and Rachel but does not identify their spouses. At this time, there is no proof that Rachel was a Barker or a Broadwater.
