Anyone working the WOODS lines out of Johnson and surrounding
counties. I recently find that a Basil WOODS s/o Samuel
Woods/Elizabeth FITZPATRICK marr.in 1916 Johnson Co. to Flossie
BAYES(b1884).She's an apparent dau. of John BAYES(2nd? wife Clarinda
SPEARS...maiden or from previous marr. unknown as yet).John and
Clarinda seem to be living in Martin Co. at the time of this dau.'s
marr. They have at least one other dau. a Mattie that will marr. a
Davis.Not too much to go on;but then for a genealogy hound it's
really quite a bit.
The 1st marr. for this John Bayes(b@1851 John.? Co.),was to Malinda
Frazier(b.@1850 in Clay Co.?)...they had 3 children together before
he/or she left the marr.The children were :Cynthia b.1874/Jefferson
McCarty ;Mary Jane Bayes b.1876/Stephen Wesley Lemaster(my
line);James William Bayes b.1880/Mary Vida Bass(? last name needs
confirming).
Malinda marr.2nd to a William Young (poss. of Martin Co,Ky)...they
had at least 3 girls:Mintie b.1890/Budge Cheek;Tallie b.1887/Dock
Cantrell;Julie b.1893/Hansford Estep. I'd love to connect with anyone
from any of these lines.
