I'm looking for information on my uncle's Bayer family. Here is EVERYTHING that I have on the family. If anyone can help tie this family to one of their line's it would be greatly appreciated. He really want to find out about his family from Germany.
My uncle's father was John Bayer (b:3-22-1903 Indiana; d:4-14-1991 of lung cancer in Ohio), and his mother was Beatrice A. Bennett Bayer (b:7-27-1908 Ohio;d:9-10-1986 of heart disease in Ohio).
John Bayer was one of the 16 children of Johan/John Bayer (b:2-15-1864 Bliesen,Germany;d:1-1-1914 of heart failure in Toledo,Ohio)and Anna Dresden (b:2-6-1866 Stolberg,Germany; d:9-17-1911 of double pnemonia in Alexandria,Indiana). John and Anna were married in Germany on 7-24-1885, and immigrated to the United States on 2-2-1889.
John and Anna had two children in Stolberg -- Adam (1886) and Nicholas (1888 - died as infant). Then six children in Tarentum, Pennsylvania -- Jacob/James (1889-1969), Gertrude (1890-1981), Mathias (1892-1967), Katherine (1894), Anna Marie (1895), and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (1897 - died as infant). Their last eight children were born in Alexandria, Indiana -- Matilda "Tillie" (1898), Wilhelmina "Minn" (1901), John (1903-1991), Madaline "Lena" (1904), Mary (1905), Joseph (1906), Elizabeth "Betty" (1908-1961), and Helen (1909-1958).
John moved the family to Toledo, Ohio after the death of his wife Anna in 1911. Most of his children resided there until their death.
John's parents were Jacob Bayer and Catherina Hastenteufel Bayer. Jacob Bayer was killed in an accident in a stone quarry in Germany (unknown date). Anna's parents were Michael Dresden and Catherina Welsch.
