OK, so more to add.
George BAY shows up in the 1880 census with his mother Davina and siblings.
He shows up in the 1900 as the head of the household, aged 37. He has a wife, Mary (MITCHELL), 25. They married in 1897. No kids. Now it lists George parents as being born in Virginia. How they connect with the BAY line in TN or TX? Don't know. (More confusion, he lists both parents being born in Alabama in 1910)
Her family is living near them. Her father was named Frank MITCHEL b. 1855 and mother Lucy b. 1857. Kids named Sallie, Nellie, Linda, Bernard, Josephine, Alford and Leany (?).
1920 census list him now as 57, wife Mary, one daughter, Jeniva, 10.arents born in VA and AL.
1930 aged 67, wife 45 and Geneva aged 18.

BTW Brenda, where are you located?
Hope this helps.
