My g-grandfather was a stone mason, and along with his brothers left a legacy of buildings in the area around Mineral Point WI. They all evenutally bought land and became farmers. Family legend involved some kind of "spanish or roman blood" due to the atypical dark hair and "roman nose" in the family, also exceptional height for that time 6'4'' in 1800s. I know they were from Redruth. Beyond that, all artifacts, i.e. letters were lost in a fire. Some decendants did use Bowden instead of Bawden. I will talk with my uncle and see if our Richard matches any of the 4 you mentioned.

Would love to know more.
