Hi DJ,
I have tried to send you e-mail and they keep coming back to me. I am going to try to send one more time. Here is what I wrote:
Hi,
I have a lot that Meiki has sent but nothing that helps me connect. I am sendinga www. address for you to look at. It is where I am getting the information copied and mailed to me. I feel blessed that they agreed to copy and send the papers and files to me. As I live about a good 2 day drive to Virginia. Here is the address enjoy:
http://www.lib.jmu.edu/http://www.lib.jmu.edu/ That is the Carrier Library at James Madison University inHarrisonburg, Virginia. I found this site just searching for information on the Bauman/Bowman family. Click on Leo Library Catalog, then on Word, put in Bowman, John and start looking at what is there. The first 3 below the description are family, skip 1 and the next 3 are John. If you click on just "John Bowman" look for Bowman William H. William Harpine he is also related.
I have not searched all of the subs. as I know I will want all, and that could run into some $$$$$.
I also have a book my Aunt Anna Mae Harmon Bowman wrote in the late 1960's. I want to have copies of it made to share. You can find Aunt Anna Mae's book at the LDS Church, I have attached where you can find that book.
My hope is that what I am getting from JMU will shed some light on a lot of question about George. I have ask for records from Spaders Church as well and they date back to 1765 and that would follow what I have on file as far as George and John.
If you would provide more info on Godfrey dates, wife, children etc. I will recheck as this is making me nuts not being able to put Godfrey and George together. I really fell like they do belong.
I have read the book written by Mr. Ed Bowman and it was a good read but found some information that does not fit mine. Other than that he is right on the money. Ed's book is also listed at the Carrier Library.
Send some info and I will dig some more. I think the 3 of us CAN put our family together.
Gail
I do not why the mail does not work but............
Putting it here might help someone else looking for Bowman/Bauman information. I like to share as when I first started and still now people do really like sharing, but I do hope you do as well.
I can not put the attachment here so I will put the information:
Microreproduction of original published:
Includes index
Includes Hawse, Miller, Neff, Pence, Wiles and related families.
