Hi Carolyn,
First Timberville is in Rockingham County. Rockingham County was formed from Augusta County in 1778.
This is what I know about George, he came to Berks County, Greenwich Township, Pa. George appears on Berks tax records for the years 17584 to 1769 after that his name is not found.
George move to Rockingham about 1770-1771. Now here is one of many places I am confused. George had a son, John Bowman b July 1, 1750. Where was John born? Did he come over on a ship whith George? Someone said John had a brother, Godfrey if so are there more children?
In papers I have say John Bowman inherited the main part of the original tract of land owned by George Bauman.
I have papers that were found among John's personal things.
I hav efound a Johann George Bauman, Johann Bowman and another Johann all came over on The Patience on Sept 19, 1749 are they George and his son John???? On the same ship was one Abraham Bauman and one Gottlieb Baumann.
At this point I can say I am lost and cofused.
