Bowman Manuscript at Historical Society of Cocalico Valley
I've been digging into my dusty records. Found an issue of "Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage" Vol. XIX, No. 2 April 1996. There is an article about the Bowmans of Virginia and in a footnote he mentions a manuscript written in 1887.
He says in the article "Benjamin Bowman, Esq., clerk of the Lancaster County Court, who was extremely familiar with court records and traditions of the Wendel Bowman family lines...". He notes there are some errors in it ; specifically he says Benjamin erred in assigning "Nimrod" Jacob (of wife Veronica) as a son of Wendel when he was actually the son of Christian I son of Wendel ("Recently discover evidence..." ?)
Still it would be interesting to see the manuscript. In the footnote he says it is at the Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley, Ephrata, Pa. Anyone familiar with this manuscript ?
