Hi,
I am related to the Baums of Cambria Co., PA thru Barbara's daughter Mary Ann. Every thing I am seeing lately has Mary Ann and Peter with the same father Bernard, however on Mary Ann Death certificate it list her father name as John Litzinger. Could anybody tell me if Bernard was maybe John Bernard or did Barbara children in fact have 2 different fathers.
I also if applied to the DAR and everything looks like it should be approved shortly. The papers are in DC now for final acceptance.
Has everybody ever found the name of Barbara mother. Mary forshey was John Baum's 2nd wife and do to her date of birth could not possibly be Barbara mother. I have Mary Forshey being born about 1787.
If I not mistaken the Litzinger family and Barbara Baum family got along fairly well. I believe Bernard's father Simon even gave some land to Barbara.
I have been researching the property given to John Baum as a Revolutionary War land grant and found some of the deeds. I am in the process of trying to straighten up a portion of the family property located in Patton, PA, that is still in my family name.
Sharon
