Have copy of 1875 state census of Washoe County NV which states that Benton B. Baum was a hotel keeper, aged 32, 1,050, 100. States he was born in Illinois and that Maude was born Indiana. I seem to remember that Benton was born in Danville IL. Just below this family and in the same house (presumably) were listed Floyd Small, age 14, George A. Small, age 23, and Joseph C. Small, age 20. Since Maude was Maude Small prior to her marriage, it is to be assumed that these are her brothers. All were born in Indiana and George and Joseph were listed at Teamsters.
