Lorene Barker makes several statements about Tucker Baughan, none of which are supported by references.
"List of patriots in Richmond Va, library shows Tucker Baughan, Loundon [sic] County"
I find no reference to any Tucker Baughan in Loudon County. Tucker Baughan was residing in Cumberland County by 23 Nov 1778. Does anyone know what she was talking about?
With respect to "census" records, she has him listed in 1782 in Cumberland County, but claims that he was 15 years old and the head of a household with 12 members. She has him listed in a census for Virginia in 1784 (no county given), this time born in 1717. No basis for either birth year provided.
Tucker Baughan was in his 30s when he moved to Cumberland County (from where?), married and with children. Where did he live before? Who were his parents? How did he come to be named "Tucker"?
