LT Baughan (Grantee) from S. Duval and wife., 12/23/1830, Henrico County Deed Book 33, Page 81. This Indenture made this first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty between Stephen Duval and Lucy his wife of the County of Henrico of the one part and Littleberry T. Baughan of the said county of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Stephen Duval and Lucy his wife in consideration of the sum of three hundred and thirty Dollars of good and lawful money of this Commonwealth to them in hand paid by the said Littleberry T. Baughan at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said Littleberry T. Baughan, his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of land lying and being in the County of Henrico on the waters of Westham and is bounded on the North by Richard Raines, on the West by Col. Ambler, on the Soth (sic) by the said Stephen Duval, by William Boucher on the East being part of the tract of land the said Stephen Duval bought of Roots, Davise, Executor Containing one hundred acres be the same more or less To have and To hold the said tract or parcel of land together with all the appurtenances now being thereon and thereunto belonging unto the said Littleberry T. Baughn his heirs and assigns forever to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said Littleberry T. Baughn his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Stephen Duval and Lucy his wife for themselves and their heirs the said land with all the appurtenances unto the said Littleberry T. Baughn his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of him the said Stephen Duval and Lucy his wife or either of them their of either of their heirs and of all and every person to persons whatsoever shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by These presents. In Witness whereof the said Stephen DuVal and Lucy his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Stephen DuVal (Seal) Lucy DuVal (Seal) Henrico County to wit. We John S. Ellis and John S. Bowles, Justices of the piece (sic) in the County aforesaid in the state of Virginiado hereby certify that Lucy DuVal wife of Stephen DuVal parties to a certain deed bearing date the first day of October 1830 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and bing examined privily and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the said Lucy DuVal acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished no to retract it. We do further certify that Stephen Duval also appeared before us and acknowledged the said deed to be his act and deed and desired us to certify said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Henrico in order that is may be recorded. This indenture was produced in the office aforesaid and with the certificate of the acknowledgement thereof by Stephen DuVal a party to the same and of the relinquishment of the dower of Lucy Duval the wife of the said Stephen DuVal before two Justices of the peace for the said County of Henrico admitted to records.
