I'd like to throw out an idea which happened in another line. Have you considered "onomastics" or the differences in the pronouncation and therefore the spelling of this ancestor's name? For example the following notes show that Littlebury/Littleberry Tucker Baughan/Vaughan goes by both spellings, as well as Vaun/Baun. This was particularly evident in the tax records when covered year after year. Also, Littleberry Tucker has a son by the same name. Finally the parents of the Littleberry born about 1750 could be John Baughan born 1715 who married Susanna Tucker: 1768 WILL: VA, Henrico Co., Colonial Wills of Henrico Co., VA Part two 1737-1781, FHL US/CAN 975.5453 S2w V.2, pg. 82: p. 286 Aug. INFORMATION ON THE PARENTS JOHN BAUGHN AND SUSANNA TUCKER: The Douglas Register, Page 48 shows the following marriage: Littleberry Vaughan & Juliana Brown, both in Henrico, 22 May 1774, Henrico County Court Orders, 1767-1769 (p. 286) as follows : "Churchwardens of Henrico Parish bind out Littlebury Baughan, son of Susannah Baughan ." His parents are believed to be John Boughan and Susannah Tucker of Essex County, VA, and his brother was Tucker Boughan who settled in Cumberland County, VA. Possibly other ways to approach this problem. John and Susanna had at least four children I think I've identified plus one or two generations further back. Have you found this to be the case in your research? Thank you for your consideration. Notify Administrator about this message?
