Baughn family

I am the Jim Crane from the genforum page. I am the ggg grandson of Payton
Baughn. My grandmother was Zoda Anne Baughn b. 1900, d. 1985, daughter of
Fredrick Jackson Baughn, son of Fredrick Hicks Baughn, son Of Payton Baughn, who was the son of Joeseph Baughn who came from Wales.
Payton lived in Oglethorpe County Geogia until 1849, thence moving to Alabama, to
the Walker/Winston County area.

I am a full time University Student ( at the age of 42), and have not checked
the postings lately. I have scanned in the Baughn Family History as written by
Joesph H. Baughn (brother to Fredrick Jackson Baughn, my g grandfather). It is
a short booklet written by Uncle Joe near his 90th year, based upon his memory.
I met Uncle Joe not long after he wrote the booklet. He was an active ,
coherent gentleman (this was 1973, or 1974).

I have recently recieved evidence that Payton may have had a brother , John,
who stayed in Oglethorpe County Georgia. The evidence is from a family bible,
showing John's marriage , death , and decendents.

Back to classes. Jim
