I cannot connect William I Anderson who married Malinda Jane Cox in Rush Co, Ind. in 1842 to my Andersons. Because of the name, I suspect there could be a connection. William I Anderson, born in 1780 in Kentucky died before 1830 in Monroe Co, Indiana, had a son William I. Anderson born in Kentucky in 1809, married Nancy Knight, died in Georgetown, TX in 1889. That William I. Anderson did not have a son William. However, he had brothers Robert, John, James, Milton, Hervey, Irvin and Harrison. Milton went to California in 1850 and Irvin to Texas about 1880. I have not followed the others, but perhaps one of them named a son William I. The mother of the first William I. Anderson was Anne Irvin, and I believe that may be what the I stands for. I hope this will help.
