1066 Invasion and the Domesday Book

Question #1:
Why don't the names Baa, Baha, Baugh, Waugh, or Wauchope, etc., appear on any lists of William the Conqueror's supporters of 1066?

My Answer:
The Baughs were already in Wales/England in about 1055, and the Waughs/Wauchopes were already in Scotland in about 1062. The family did not need to take what it had already been freely given.

Question #2:
Why don't the names Baa, Baha, Baugh, Waugh, or Wauchope, etc., appear in William the Conqueror's Domesday property listings of 1089?

My Answer:
The Welsh/English border region was spottily canvassed, while Scotland was not included at all.
