BOOK IN MY LOCAL LIBRARY SAYS THAT THE NAME BAUGH IF A WELSH WORD FOR LITTLE, AND WAS A NAME APPLIED TO PERSONS OF SMALL BUILD. I RECALL READING THAT THE NAME CAME FROM GERMANY AT ABOUT THE TIME GEORGE 1st BECAME KING. BUT, OF COURSE, CAN'T FIND THAT REFERENCE WHEN I WANT IT. PLUS, THERE WERE NO DOUBT BAUGHS IN THE U.K. BEFORE THAT. JUST A LITTLE FUEL FOR THE ARGUMENT--LOYD M. BISHOP, DESCENDENT OF WILLIAM A. BAUGH OF MADISON COUNTY, KY, AND HENDRICKS COUNTY, IN.
