Unlike you I don't have the privilege of living in VA, so I do not know where all these different places are located. I probably sent the map coordinates by email. And it was an error that I said they came from historical society. I found a place called Cathole Landing listed on the inte4rnet. The coordinates for that place are: 36 degrees, 33 minutes, 30 seconds NOrth and 76 degrees, 53 minutes 32 seconds West. From what my son and I figures this is on the Appomattox. The location that came from Va historical society was Suffolk County.

I am not trying to say that you are incorrect---in fact I think your idea is a good one. But since we neither one know for sure why stop looking? I can't see how this proves who the parents of John, (d-1761) was. Kay
