Reuben Baugh born VA abt. 1804. Living in Chattanooga, Tenn. when his first wife died and left him with two little girls. Reuben built a raft and traveled the Tennessee River to Gunterville, AL where they settled. The two little girls were named Sarah and Mary A. This was before 1850, because the family is on the 1850 AL. census.
Reuben remarried to an Elizabeth. Family lived in Marshall and Cullman County, AL. Children listed on AL. census from the years (1850 thru 1880) living in his household were:
Sarah b. 1831 in Tenn.,
Elizabeth A. b. 1840 in Tenn.
all others were born in AL.
Susan b. 1850,
Terry b. 1852,
James R. b. 1854,
Samuel b. 1858,
Tgne b. 1861,
Charles A. b. 1861,
Silas C. b. 1862,
Thomas R. b. October 10, 1863, ( my great-grandfather)
Mary C. b. 1864,
Mary E. b. 1865
William b. 1865.
Some of these children were probably Reuben's grandchildren.
