I am also looking for Bauers from Russia. I only know the name of an ancestor named Elizabeth Bauer (b. 1866) who came to the US from Russia in 1886. I had heard she was from Odessa, and was probably Jewish (although one rumor has her Romani). She settled in SD, then ND, and married Jacob Free.
