My Bower's Bauer-immigrated 1854-to Rockland County NY/Orange County NJ-Mother was Catherine (I believe she went by Elizabeth) Father was John- I believe they came over on the ship the David Hoardley- to NYC-which came out of Antwerp.-the passenger list is partly illegible but the Bauers were listed on lines 67-96-so there possible were two family's-cousins, Uncles , Aunts- I also found some naturalization records for Rockland County NY-?? One reason this family might be elusive is (I believe) they lived in Doodletown NY-which was one of five hamlet communities that were taken over by the State of NY to form Bear mountain State Park around 1914-the families of this area moved into Northern NJ-Stony Point NY-Haverstraw, NY-rumor in the family is that they ended up in Minnestota and saskatchuan Canada- my ancestor was George Bauer- originally Gustavus- he married twice-his first family is from Canada-the second lived in and around Haverstraw/Stony Point Ny-Most of them changed their name to Bower. There was a John who was a son of John-
