I really don't have anything for you,except that I am researching John G. and Matilda Bauer, of Western MD and PA,and learned that John G was sheriff of Allegeny County MD in abt 1875.In searching that county's historical records online,the only Bauers that they have listed are Christian Bauer and his daughter Catharina Margaretha,who apparently were descended from Maria Magdelina Flohri,born at Birkenau,Germany 9/25/1673.I am not a member of that county society and that is all I have access to.If interested,perhaps you can get more from them.Try them at www.swcp.com/~dhickman/gedcom/florey/d0002/g0000089.htm?Bauer.
