John George Bauer married Maria Carolina D.J. Knauer. She born 8 Dec 1818 in Germany, died 1891 in Burlington, Iowa.
Children were:
John N. Bauer b. 1841
Maria Sophia Bauer (Mattes)b. 1844
Rachel or Fredricka Bauer (Powell?)b. 1846
Lydia Catherine Bauer (Richter)b. 1849
Georgianna Bauer b 1855

Our family is from Maria Sophia Bauer (Mattes)
also called Mary.
