Hans Bauer and wife Anne settled in Berks Co. PA maybe as early as 1714. Their descendants are in Lister O. Weiss "Trail of the Pioneers", published 1952. Book should be taken with caution. Among other things, it repeats a common assumption that this couple is the same as Hans Baur and Anne Willener of Oberhofen, Switzerland who emigrated from there to Holland in 1711. NOT! Article by Georg Michael de Boer (in German) in Berner Zeitschrift fuer Geschichte und Genealogie, 1947, shows conclusively that the Baur's of Oberhofen remained in Holland.
