My mother's grandfather was George Bauer of Attica New York, which is 20 miles from Alden. His father and mother came with many other families, the Glors, the Snyders, the Nevingers and others, from Oberkutzenhousen in Alsace Lorraine. There are many Bauers in that area. Many of them are buried in the "Dutch Flats" cemetary between Attica, Varysburg, and Orangeville NY. It is near the corner of Exchange St. Rd from Attica and Buffalo Rd from Varysburg.
